Innovations for Poverty Action

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a non-profit organization that carries out research on poverty alleviation and development programs, and advocates for the use of this research in decision-making. IPA was founded in 2011 by Dean Karlan, an American development economist.

In 2011, GiveWell named IPA a "standout organization" (GiveWell 2011). The Life You Can Save features IPA in their list of "best charities" (The Life You Can Save 2021).

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a close partner of IPA.
