I'm young and I'm not familiar with the AI safety career situation. But I'm worried about something: There has been millions of people competeing in AI and software engineer fields, but most of them don't work for AI safety. Instead, they may even worsen AI risks because they make AGI develop faster. Do long-term AI safety researches create economic values for companies?(most focus more on near-term AI risk) Why are there only around 300 people working in AI safety field? Is AI safety jobs market big enough to let more people build a career in? Or are there limited career opportunities for us to work in ?
