Greg Kroah-Hartman from the Linux foundation recently published a talk on linux kernel security. Linux is an open source operating system that the world heavily relies on, e.g android, cloud, your fridge, the mars rovers, etc. 

If you or someone you know is studying computer science and is interested in having an effective career, I believe working on the linux kernel would have to be one of the highest impact careers you could have and this talk helps drive that home.
