We’re excited to open applications for The CBT Lab 2025! Hosted by Rethink Wellbeing, this program is designed for people committed to doing the most good in the world—at a cost you can afford, starting from $0.

Consider applying to The CBT Lab if you want to:

  • Become more resilient and productive
  • Learn evidence-based tools to navigate challenges like low motivation, focus, mood, and self-esteem
  • Connect with other ambitious altruists around the world

In the effective altruism (EA) community, 74% of those affected by poor mental health report unmet needs. This doesn’t just impact an individual's well-being–it reduces productivity by up to 35%, limiting their ability to tackle the world’s most pressing problems. Rethink Wellbeing is changing this. Our programs empower altruists to prioritize their mental health so that they can have a greater impact on the world.

Last year, CBT Lab participants reported a 16% increase in overall well-being and productivity gains equivalent to 8 extra weekly working hours—time they use to create lasting change.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, we are excited to offer lower-cost and free CBT Lab places again this year. Our pay-what-you-can model is designed for those who are dedicated to doing good in the world but may not have the means to take care of themselves while doing it. We encourage you to suggest any contribution amount that you can afford, including $0.
