It always takes great effort to get research grants for professors in college. But, can researches on animal welfare, ex:how to save animals from forest fire, how to cure birds, detecting animals' voice... I think for the people who don't care that much for animals, these topics seem less valuable to the "grant givers" than the basic molecular biology research(like CRISPR) or human medicine, so it's harder to get enough funding in animal welfare research. But this is only my guess. Is it true?
Sorry, it looks like some people downvoted this question, I’d like to know if I asked a dumb question or I didn't clarify my question. But, I think this is an important question, because if you keep in trouble getting funds with academics(It's common in Taiwan that you don't have enough funding), you can't finish your research
