- Applications for the Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program (CEIP) are now open. CEIP is a two-month, cost-covered training program that gives a small cohort of talented people from across the world everything they need to launch a field-leading charity. The program will be held from August 11-October 3, mostly online, but with 2 in-person weeks in London. Learn more and apply here by March 24th.
- Applications for the September Ambitious Impact Research Program are also open. This full-time, fully cost-covered program runs online for 12 weeks and will equip participants with the tools and skills needed to identify, compare, and recommend the most effective charities and interventions.This program will be held from September 29-December 19, fully online. - Applications for The Good Food Institute's Alt Protein Project are live. The Alt Protein Project is a student-powered movement to seed alternative protein hubs at universities around the globe. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student passionate about alternative proteins, please consider applying here by March 28th.
- ARENA 5.0: Alignment Research Engineer Accelerator is a 4–5 week machine learning bootcamp focused on AI safety, held in-person at LISA from April 28th to May 30th. Apply by February 15th.
- The USD300 Fermi Model Competition is looking for creative Fermi estimates using AI tools. Prize: $300. Open globally. Apply by February 16th. Results will be announced by March 1st.
- Stanford Summer Course: Economics of Transformative AI is a free August 16–29 program at Stanford University exploring AI’s economic impact. Open to graduate students in economics and others, with possible reimbursements for room, board, and transport. Apply by February 21st.
- ML4Good Colombia Bootcamp is a free 10-day program in Colombia focusing on deep learning and AI safety for motivated individuals in Latin America with coding experience. Travel support available. Apply by February 28th.
- MATS Applications are now open for summer supervision of mechanistic interpretability research. This remote opportunity requires approximately 10 hours of commitment. Apply for Neel Nanda’s stream by February 28th. Decisions will be announced on March 18th.
- The Mathematical AI Alignment Course is a 6-week online program by ALTER and Monastic Academy, covering learning theory and AI alignment topics. Cost: $200 refundable based on attendance. Runs March 17–April 21, 2025. Apply by March 1st.
- MHFC Applications are open to support impactful global mental health projects with grants up to $185K. Now co-chaired by leaders from Bloom Wellbeing Fund. Apply by March 15th.

Givewell
GiveWell launched a public request for information to identify organizations interested in implementing chlorination programs in its highest-priority countries. The deadline for interested organizations to apply is March 7th. Read more here.
Open Philanthropy
Open Philanthropy launched an RFP to fund Technical AI Safety research across 21 areas related to improving humanity’s understanding and control of AI systems. Apply by April 15th.
They also launched an RFP to fund work that addresses major challenges to the field of AI capability evaluation by building GCR-relevant benchmarks, advancing the science of evaluations, or improving third-party access infrastructure. Apply by April 1st.
Open Philanthropy published a blog post titled “Paths to Open Philanthropy,” sharing how nine team members found their way to the organization, and another on “Cool Things Our GHW Grantees Accomplished in 2024,” highlighting outstanding work across its Global Health and Wellbeing portfolio.

The Humane League
In January, several major companies reported progress on their global cage-free commitments following pressure from THL.
- Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican multinational food company with a presence in over 33 countries, reported that the share of cage-free eggs in its supply has doubled since 2023.
- Greek Manufacturer Condito published an update on their global cage-free egg progress, with their global cage-free egg percentage increasing by 30% in 2024.
- And Reina Group, a global dessert manufacturing company with a presence in Spain, Portugal, and the US, announced that it is now 100% cage-free for all of its products.

Anima International
Anima International launched a public pressure campaign in Poland when a major bakery chain backtracked on its cage-free pledge. The campaign succeeded after only 6 days — the company in question is now reporting on progress toward eliminating cage eggs from its supply chain by the end of 2025.
Together with Growth and Impact Group, Anima International launched four Fundraising Academies. These 12-month pilot courses on telefundraising, copywriting, engagement, and meta growth aim to help other organizations secure funding and supporters.
Animal Advocacy Careers
Animal Advocacy Careers have done the research to find out what it takes to get a dream job in animal advocacy. They analysed successful placements across leading animal advocacy organisations, particularly those focused on farmed animal welfare, to understand what makes candidates stand out.
Animal Advocacy Careers’ 2024 Annual Report has been published. It explains the organisation’s impact in 2024 and some of their plans for 2025.
Center on Long-Term Risk
The leadership at the Center on Long-Term Risk (CLR) has changed. Jesse Clifton has stepped down as Executive Director and is succeeded by Tristan Cook as Managing Director and Mia Taylor as Interim Research Director. More details here.
Faunalytics
Faunalytics welcomes Allison Troy as its new Research Director. With a PhD in Social Psychology, Allison has led research on emotion regulation, resilience, and effective advocacy strategies. She previously directed research for a nonprofit focused on global justice, developing messaging guides and advocacy training. Learn more about Allison here.
Faunalytics released a new study, Exploring the Impacts of Food System Education. It investigates the long-term effects of New Roots Institute’s food systems education program, which teaches US high school and college students about the consequences of factory farming while fostering advocacy and leadership skills.
