What do you think the EV would be to set up a not-for-profit that helps high impact charities increase their fundraising in a new market? I'm thinking the formula would be something like below, and am looking for help filling the blanks:

EV = (average donation $/donor in a given country) * (# donors of in a given country) * (charity's impact / $ received)

For more context, there's a potential opportunity to set up something like this with law students in Montreal, Canada. This evaluation will help determine if it'd be worth the while! And no, no other organizations do this right now - at least, not with volunteer law students. That said, I know major organizations will probably want to hire major lawyers if they're going to make a move into a new country. Only small to medium charities might take up an offer like this one.

My guess is this is fairly low EV because most charities can receive donations indirectly. For example, the Fish Welfare Initiative is not registered as a charity in Canada; but the Rethink Charity Foundation (which is registered in Canada) will forward donations via their RC Forward project.

Also, donors using a DAF can often donate internationally without additional intermediaries.

You might consider speaking with some charities that did register in other markets to see how it affected their fundraising. For example the Against Malaria Foundation is registered in 13 countries.
